Old jeans into the everyday skirt (and a simple machine cover)

I’d been wanting to do this for a long time! So when Jatan discarded a pair as ‘too worn’, I grabbed it :) and made this -

Both Gudia and I are fond of these for routine wear. So I guess I’ll be making one more (I've been eyeing an old black pair of pants for a while now ;))


Also, in the last few days, I made a cover for my machine. I have one of those plastic boxes but that is a bit cumbersome to use. So I gathered some old fabric I had (from a bed skirt. I don't use those!) and made this - 

Wanted to make a 'box-like' cover but ran out of patience! So simply took a long piece and sewed it double. Gave it curved corners and ta da!
